Objects
The Objects of the charity are:
- To promote swimming as a beneficial activity for people with disabilities.
- To provide a consultative forum for the national organisations concerned with swimming for people with disabilities, and co-ordinate, where appropriate the work of member organisations.
Aims
The Aims of the charity are to:
- Consider the needs of swimming groups and clubs for people with disabilities and take appropriate action.
- Consider areas of common concern including facility requirements, training teachers, coaches and officials, methods of competition and to make recommendations for action.
- Provide opportunities for people with disabilities to assume positions of responsibility in swimming.
- Collect, collate and disseminate and, where necessary, provide information required by those involved with swimming for people with disabilities.
- Identify the roles and training needs of helpers in swimming groups and clubs for people with disabilities and to take the necessary action.
- Encourage, where appropriate, the integration of swimmers into mainstream clubs and provision.
- Offer co-operation to the governing bodies of swimming in the pursuance of integration.
- To identify gaps in provision and to make recommendations for action
